Wine and Chocolate Tasting Wrap-Up

On Friday, January 22 several Jaycees toasted to the new year by participating in the Chocolate and Wine Night Tasting at Fieldstone Winery.  Fieldstone pared a selection of six wines and six complimentary chocolates to be tasted.  At one end of the winery was a table with a representative from Fieldstone Winery who was sharing a Muller Thurgau pared with a milk chocolate truffle, a Washington Riesling with a chocolate pretzel, and a Dolcetto with chocolate almonds.  Through the spirited crowd was another table with a representative from the Schakolad Chocolate Factory who provided the tasters with a Shiraz with dark cinnamon chipotle chocolate, a Zinfandel with a Fieldstone Zinfandel truffle, and a White Merlot with a raspberry ganache.  With each sample a description of the wine and how the chocolate accentuated the flavor was provided.  The evening was filled with warm conversation, scrumptious wines and utterly delicious chocolate; we all became one step closer to becoming a connoisseur of the wine.

This tasting is offered twice per year by Fieldstone and we will keep everyone informed of the next time they are running it for those who were unable to attend.
