SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2009 @ 4 PM – THE COATS’ HOUSE
The Rochester Area Jaycees will be having a summer cookout at the Coats’ house on Sunday, June 28 beginning at 4PM. We will have burgers, dogs, other snacks, pop, etc. (BYOB). Please join us if you can make it and celebrate summer with great friends and good food. For those interested in working up an appetite (and also working off the dinner after eating) we will also be playing Extreme Badminton! EB is a combination of badminton (we use birds, rackets, etc.) and volleyball (you can “pass” the bird to your teammates before hitting it over the net). The only other unusual rule about EB is that there’s no out of bounds…if the bird makes it over the net then it’s in play (unless maybe if it hits a tree or electric pole, etc.). If it rains then we can play games inside (or play REALLY Extreme Badminton outside?).
If badminton isn’t your game then just come out for the socializing. Even if you can only make it for a short time we’d love to see you – feel free to come late or leave early, whatever your schedule will allow. IMPORTANT – We will also be recognizing our 2009 Rochester Area Jaycees Exhausted Roosters at this event! Our ‘Class of 2009’ includes 4 outstanding Rochester Area Jaycees. These 4 members have combined to give our chapter…1 senator, 2 tenth degree Jaycees (another is currently a ninth degree – there’s still time!), 3 past chapter presidents, and all 4 have been on our board multiple years. Please come out to thank and congratulate Cheryl Satterthwaite, Elspeth Coats, Pam Bubnar, andDavid Silver.
