Scrapbooking and Cardmaking

Recently, the Rochester Area Jaycees and friends had the opportunity to learn about scrapbooking and cardmaking. JCI Senator Elspeth Coats welcomed chapter members into her home to share her cardmaking talents.

Those who attended were able to see a collection of Elspeth’s work and were introduced to some tips and techniques including stamping, punching, cutting, folding, and embossing. Participants had a chance exchange ideas, ask questions and see a Cricut in action. Elspeth’s specialty is cardmaking but she also taught us about scrapbooking and showed us how she had archived some of her own treasured memories.

Not only did Elspeth open up her home to the chapter, she also shared her materials with the group which kept this a free learning opportunity where attendees could get creative and make something for themselves instead of just watching. Thank you, Elspeth, for helping us to broaden our horizons.
