Hearts for Seniors

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2011 @ 7:30 PM

Hearts for Seniors is a project in which our chapter sends our best wishes for a Happy Valentines’ Day to seniors who are recipients of the Older Person’s Center (OPC) home-delivered meals program.  Many of these homebound seniors live alone and the home-delivered meals program is their only daily contact with other people. Some words of kindness and a special treat to let them know we care can make a big difference, especially on holidays.

At February’s General Membership Meeting, The Rochester Area Jaycees will assemble Valentine-themed treat bags for homebound seniors in the area. These bags will contain some sweet treats as well as Valentine greetings. The assembled bags will be delivered the next day to local homebound seniors by the OPC’s home-delivered meals drivers.

Materials are provided by the chapter and will be available at the GMM on February 10, 2011. If you have any questions, please contact project chair Dan Moellering at communityvp@rochesterareajaycees.org or 248-652-7777.
